Halloween Party

Well this past Friday Chris's mom hosted the Stratford 3rd annual Halloween party. I've never really been a huge halloween person, but I must admit that it is ten times better when you have someone that can dress up with you!!! Chris and I have had fun these past couple of years dressing in a theme. Our first year Chris decided in like August that he wanted to be Wolverine for Halloween, so he started growing out his hair....yeah. So I had to put up with a bum for a couple of months, but he did make a pretty hot wolverine if I do say so myself. I went as Rouge.

Last year I went as a dental hygienist....I know very original......and Chris didn't dress up. Well this year I wanted to go as Head Cheerleader and Captain of the football team. I went to Highland (go Rams) and Chris went to Olympus (Whatever). I had my pep club outfit that I could wear, but being that Chris spent only about a week on Olympus's football team he didn't have a jersey. So off to the DI I went and they had a basketball jersey from olympus!!!! Love it! So we were head cheerleader and captain of the basketball team. It all works!!!

"Oh the hoop is open the net is hot....make....that....shot!" P.S. I do NOT remember those skirts being that short in high school!!! I wore pants because of the G-factor, it was my saving grace. Can you say slutty? Sheesh. I didn't even think twice about it in high school.....then again that does make sense....just kidding...sort of.
Chris's grandma is super cool. She always shows up in the wildest costumes. How many Grandma's do you know that would dress up as a punk rocker with blue hair?

Well all in all it was a very fun party. We got to catch up with some of Chris's cousins and talk for a while. These parties get pretty intense! Chris's mom has 10 other siblings with close to like 50 grandkids now. I've been in the family 3 1/2 years and I still don't know everyone's name yet....I'm getting better though. The oldest grandkid is married with three kids of her own and the youngest grandkid is a couple of weeks old......a HUGE variation. Oh well it makes for a great time and a ton of great people to catch up with!

Congrats Dad!!!

My dad has been chosen as a finalist for America's Road Team!!!! For those of you who don't know, the road team is a group of elite drivers who get sent all over the country and give educational talks etc. The process of getting in is very competitive. My dad has been asked for the past two years to apply. Big wigs in his company have written him extraordinary letters of recommendation and he had to send in an audition video along with a resume type thing. Last year my dad didn't get it, but this year they decided to fly him out to Washington D.C. for the finals. I'm so proud of him!!! I love that he loves his job and goes the extra mile to continually improve. He is a great example of persistence and to always continue to strive for things in your profession. I love seeing him finally getting recognition for his many years of hard work. Good job dad, you're a great example to me and I know that you'll do GREAT!!!! Love ya!

Music for the soul

There are certain songs that spark memories for me. All coming back to me now by Celine Dion reminds me of this boy that I had a major crush on in elementary school. I don't remember why...it just does. This I promise you by N*SYNC reminds me of my first boyfriend. I was 16 and I wanted it to be our song. He wanted a song by Mandy Moore...I think it was I want to be with you. Someday I'll fly away reminds me of my house on 17th (the house I grew up in). I used to sing that song over and over while painting it to sell. I hate that house. You belong to me, version by Lifehouse is Chris and my song because he used to sing it to me when we were dating. Every time he sings it, he melts my heart. It was our first dance song and he sang it to me then......hmmm he's so sexy sometimes. Anyways back to the topic. I love how a song can come on and instantly I'm back to a different time in my life....good or bad. I love being captivated by music.
One of my all time favorite movies is Meet Joe Black. I love the story, but I love the music even more. I don't think I've ever seen a movie where the music captures the emotions of the characters better than they do. I love the ending. Everything is coming together and the music captures everthing. I cry almost everytime I listen to it. It seriously gives me goose bumps. I love to listen to it whenever I'm stressed or feel like I need a good emotional check (which I haven't really needed lately, I've been such a baby). I've included the link to you tube, and I recommend you listening to it. If you haven't seen the movie, the music says it all. Listen and let me know what you think. Be warned it is 10 minutes long, but even if you can only listen to part of it, it's definatley worth it.
Let me know what songs you love and what memories they conjure up!!!

Just Plain Ready.....v2.0

Well in electronic terms, my tv and I are an old married couple. I mean seriously, we've been together for like 8 months. I know you are 47" but come on. Look at all the 52's around. Sure 1080p is great, but look at all the new hotness: 120hz, LCoS, Laser or OLED!

What's next 240hz? 480hz? How many "hz" do we need!? I was walking through Costco the other day and I saw these 60" plasmas and lcd's. Thats when I realized, I am just plain ready. Ready for the next 'big' thing. Ready for someone to walk in my living room and literally crap in their pants because they have seen it. You know what I am talking about right?

Mr. Mom?

Well Chris will get these random inklings to do some random crap. Well a couple of weeks ago was no exception. We are currently in a two bedroom condo and Chris has adopted the additional bedroom as his office. Well when we moved in the previous owners had left the drapes up. I love them. They're very nice and are very well suited to the rooms. Well Chris being the random guy he is randomly decided that the drapes were driving him nuts!!! Well he decided that he wanted to shorten them a few inches. He wanted to hem all the drapes in the house, but I put my foot down and told him no. He was lucky I was going to let him experiment with "his" drapes. Well he cut, pressed, fastened and sew a new hem on the drapes......the verdict?!? He did an amazingly good job. One thing that I have learned with Chris over the years is that I don't give him as much credit as he deserves. He will always come up to me with some hair brain idea that I think he could no way pull off and he never ceases to amaze me and DOES it!!! Way to go honey. As always I'm way impressed.

Just plain ready.....

Well in Utah terms Chris and I are an old married couple who have yet to have children. We get asked all the time when we are going to start having kids and I assure you that our abstinence from children is totally by choice.
I've never really thought of myself as a person that was baby hungry. Well things changed drastically this year around February. Chris was leaving for a weekend on a business trip and to spare you the details of his goodbye party, long story short I ended up forgetting to take one of my birth control pills while he was away. Well probably for the first time ever I was actually really sad when d-day hit. Ever since then Chris can testify that I've been more than baby hungry to the point of annoyance. It has only gotten worse as the year has gone on.
Does it seem to anyone else that the entire world is knocked up? Well to a very non-pregnant individual this seems to be the case. I can count WAY too many people including friends, family, and some of my favorite TV characters, who are either gonna pop, ready to pop, or have popped. This is very hard for the people, well mainly me, who are not pregnant. I found out a couple of weeks ago on the same weekend that two of my friends are pregnant. I LOST IT!!!! I literally cried for like an hour. There were mucous streams on my pillow and Chris seriously almost threw up.

Things have not gotten better. Our ward is a newly wed or nearly dead ward. Well most of the newly wed individuals have the MOST adorable babies on the face of the earth. Chris hates it because I always leave church talking non-stop about babies. Well last week was an exceptionally pathetic moment in my life. There was this little boy infront of us in sacrament and I was making him laugh. He was reaching for me and I put out my index finger and he wrapped his cute little chubby hand around my finger and I started crying!!!! Chris looked at the little boy, who was under 1, and said "great now look what you did!" (not in a mean way, it was funny it made me laugh and probably blow a snot bubble). I swear I scared the little boys mom to death. Hmmm creepy woman touching my baby and crying...not a good combination.

It was literally this precious. I think that the clouds parted at that exact moment!! I even believe that there were voices of angels and they were singing.....
Well I cried some more that night and Chris and I had a long talk about it. We are both so ready its sad and we can't do anything about it (well we could, but it would be totally irresponsible). I thought about it more and I hate waiting, but know that its the best thing for us right now (if I keep telling myself this I'll eventually believe it right?) If I were to graduate pregnant I wouldn't find a job because no dentist in his right mind would hire a pregnant hygienist, I wouldn't be able to pay off my enormous school loan, we would end up on the streets, get hepatitis and probably herpes and slowly die the most miserable death imaginable. So there you have it!!! Death and baby or $$$$$ and baby. I will chose the latter any day of the week......well it really depends on the day.
